Which is better mma training or judo?

Is mma better for streeting fighting than judo? I already box well and iam comfortable with my hands, should i train in judo or mma?|||MMA is a more complete Martial Art. More applicable to real life|||MMA. Just go to Youtube and you can see plenty of MMA guys whomping people of other Martial Arts, including Judo.|||Let%26#039;s put it this way , you learn how to throw in Judo , you throw someone on the concrete with force , the fights over.|||Street fighting is a style of it%26#039;s own as well and is different than MA of any kind. MMA will give you all around skills that you will hopefully learn to use as defence only with the number one self defence move of any Martial Artist being to get away.|||judo.|||train in a boxing gym and learn to box.|||as in judo know who your messing with hommes.|||Judo|||judo i%26#039;d do judo|||MMA of course. And since you%26#039;re already good in the boxing part of MMA, now concentrate on the wrestling and juijitsu part of MMA and add some kicks, elbows and knees (all part of mma as well of course) then you%26#039;ll be complete. by adding only judo u will not be complete.|||mma|||Uhh the best training for Street fighting is to get an education and realize that street fighting is for the ignorant.

However if you ever got in a fight with some idiot who just decided he was gonna fight you I would train in MMA or just get so big that nobody would want to mess with you.

Fighting in a sport is great but fighting on the street is a good way to get yourself killed... or even worse to kill someone.|||judo|||Actually, there are a few guys that specialize in judo who compete in MMA. Throws can be very effective in an MMA type fight. Judo teaches balance and teaches you how to properly get leverage. So I would say learning judo would be a pretty good idea.|||Judo and boxing are a complete combo for street fighting. Judo will teach you to handel people who are stronger then you and if they get a hold of you. Thats invaluable on the street. Just imagine the look on the girls faces when you toss Mr. muscles.

(No Offence to Mr. Muscle)|||I would say you should look to Judo because chances are very low that if you ever were to get into a fight that the person you are fighting with would be shirtless and pantless. In MMA training you may get taught a few %26quot;takedowns%26quot; but in Judo there are a combined 67 throws and takedowns. There is a wider range of throws you have the opportunity to become proficient at.

In Judo over time everyone can develop a throw. Everyone has a throw that suits their body. For example, my single and double leg takedowns are not very good but I have a very good seoi nage (shoulder throw) and o soto gari (outer leg reaping throw. I have other throws as well but for me those are my best. O soto gari is simple enough yet on the street that could be a fight finisher.

Also, in Judo you will learn enough of the ground game to be very good on the ground. Perhaps not as good as a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) but by black belt in Judo you%26#039;d likely be at a blue belt level in BJJ. In my opinion a blue belt can beat almost every untrained person on the ground regardless of size.

In my opinion you will have longevity in Judo if you enjoy that sort of thing. You will be able to do Judo for many years, even into your 60%26#039;s and 70%26#039;s. You will not have that kind of longevity in MMA.

In the end, you should choose to do Judo or MMA because you want to do Judo or MMA. Never forget that both are sports so if you train either you will learn things that teach you how to win in a competition and not necessarily win in a fight. They are fighting tools, just like your boxing skills is a fighting tool. Good luck.
