Are you ever too old to participate in the olympics for Judo?

My dream is to become an Olympic athlete under the USA for Judo. Is there an age that you cannot participate anymore? If so, what is that age. |||Training starts taking a toll, and it%26#039;s harder to remain competetive in your late 30s.

But pretty much up until 34 to 36, you can still be relevant.(Jimmy Pedro, Brian Olson, Mark Huinzinga).

But it definately takes a battering on you.

It really depends on your drive, how fortunate you are with injuries, your talent, etc.

But there is no hard and fast rule as far as what age you cannot compete anymore, it just typically is if you can qualify (i.e. being an elite level athlete in the top 8 of the country at your weight division to participate in the Olympic Trials).

No max age, just becomes a time when you slow down, and can%26#039;t keep up with the rigors of elite athletic competetion.|||There is no age limit for competition but I%26#039;m sure your body will tell you when it%26#039;s too old.

Competing in Judo at an olympic level is not something just anyone can do. You better start with local Judo tournaments and see if you are even Olympic material.
