I realize Yudo is Korean Judo, but is it identical with Korean names for the moves, or do the forms and techniques differ as well?
Also, are there good books or DVDs on Yudo you would recommend?
Thanks.|||It doesn%26#039;t differ much. Yudo is the Korean pronunciation of Judo. It is supposed to more closely related to the original Kodokan Judo taught by the founder of Judo, Dr. Jigaro Kano.|||Yudo is simply Korean Judo.
The Koreans have an %26#039;issue%26#039; with the Japanese and never give the Japanese credit for anything. The reverse is true with the Japanese regarding Korea.
So Yudo and Judo are virtually the same thing. The Koreans practice and compete their Judo/Yudo with a little more strength bound techniques than their Japanese counter-parts. Korean Yudo %26#039;dojangs%26#039; are noted for their tough phyiscal fitness routines.
But the Japanese still have the best Judo in the world bar none (but the Koreans are creeping up on them).|||Yudo is Judo. It is the Korean lineage of Japanese Judo.

Actually being a student of both arts(black in Yudo) currently blue in Judo. There is a few differences, different hand placements. Some lower stances, and dropping knees. That's pretty much it.
