Is there any way to practice martial arts such as Judo without a partner?

I want to practice martial arts at home without using family members|||As someone said earlier - get a practice dummy. A good lifesize heavy one of those is better than a partner because you can go berserk on it without fear of injury. No need for mats; as the dummy will break your fall.

In fact; thank you for your question because i think i will look for one myself.|||This is going to sound ridiculous, but I got an old CPR dummy from my health teacher. It%26#039;s just a head and torso, but I can practice some of my techniques by dressing it up in an old gi top. It helped me when I first started just to remember what the moves were.|||I remember seeing isao okano tying a elastic rope(one that bounces back, has tension) to a tree to train his throwing form.|||I%26#039;m glad you don%26#039;t want to use family members. In styles, you can that have forms you can practice them alone. In fact, that%26#039;s how they started. People living alone for periods of time used them to stay sharp. If you don%26#039;t have forms, I don%26#039;t know what you can do.|||it is virtually impossible to practice jubo without a partner. and also, practicing kicks and punches on anything other than a human is like swimming on dry land|||Buy one of those wrestling dummies.|||Don%26#039;t underestimate the practical training value of practicing your katas (sp?) They%26#039;re great for working on your balance and form, which are both tough to do when you%26#039;re actually sparring or practicing throws. Plus the look cool, which is always a bonus.|||Katas are useful but you still need a partner in Judo. As with all grappling systems, you need to practice against someone who will counter your techniques and you can%26#039;t do that alone. Kata and other training techniques are meant to enhance already learned skills, so that precludes that you already have the training to begin with.|||You can go through the moves without needing a person.Being able to do the correctly with or without a person can help.I practiced like that in judo and i also compete when i am able. But is is better to have a body for some of the moves so u can get the feel for it.Just don%26#039;t throw and don%26#039;t try to hurt the person.Using them can help them learn and maybe want to learn judo with you.|||kata, watch alot of videos
