How many Judo Throws are there, including unrecognized ones?

I%26#039;m interested into Judo because of its Throws and I%26#039;ve been on

different websites to see how many there are. The highest number of

Judo Throws I could find was 71 but does any one know if theres more.|||There%26#039;s way more...

Keep in mind while there maybe only 67 %26quot;Officially recognized by the Kodokan%26quot; throws, there are far more that are variations of the same throw. It is a pretty limitless number considering at times the Japanese are very technical about some throws.

A small twist or the way you grab can be considered too different throws in some contexts..

In others as throws have been modified they simply give a generic term for ANY modification of the throw or technique by labelling it as %26quot;Kazure XX XXX%26quot;

There are tons of different wrestling and Russian based throws out there, that are wholly the product of Judo, somewhat different from any throw, yet because of a similarity to a throw someone will simply identify it as the closest thing.

Trust me, there is a big thing out there in the Judo world of identifying a particular throw by it%26#039;s proper name, very prominent Judoka can disagree on the exact same technique as far as it%26#039;s name.

I can say that there are 67 %26quot;Official Kodokan Throws%26quot; but FAR more out there that are no where close to the official throw that they are sometimes called by. Including nasty counters and such.

It would be hard to put an exact number on it to tell the truth as people modify things to work for themselves or discover a new throw or takedown on their own and will dominate competetions with it.

Is it a totally different throw? Or is it just a modification of another throw? I guess that is subjective.

67 Kodokan throws... hundreds of Judo throws used by various people throughout the world.|||You should try %26quot;Judo techniques%26quot; at Wikipedia, that Judoinfo site

has only shows 67 throws unlike Wikipedia which shows most of the throws including the unrecognized ones.|||There are tons of judo throws. You can ask around in sherdog.net although I%26#039;d rather do a quick google search instead if I was in your case.|||Nice.|||YO justin thanks for that link man! |||I don%26#039;t know squat about judo, but real good question man. about time some one started asking real questions in here : )|||Check this link and thank me later.
