What do these styles of martial arts focus on: Judo, Kenpo (not sure if this is a style), Ju jitsu, and Karate?

I%26#039;m not sure what these really are and i%26#039;m hoping someone can explain what the main focus of them are.|||JuJitsu: Grappling style referred to as %26quot;The Gentle Way%26quot;

Judo: Sport Version of JuJitsu emphasizing throws and submissions.

Karate: Mostly linear stand up striking art, depending on which Karate you refer to.

Kenpo: All of the above. Empty handed style. As well as the previous it incorporates Boxing, wrestling, Muy Thai and plain old American street fighting.

|||Judo: Gental way- origianlly Dr. Kano the founder created Judo out of Jujitsu to be a sport version of Jujitsu. It includes breakfall(how to fall) throws, take downs. Kenpo is a Hawian version of Karate which inclueds eliments of Kunng fu developed by a Professer Chow. Karate: (empy hand) founded in Okinawa. Hagoshiona was said to be the father of modern Karate, It was developed from elements of Kung fu ( Chinese art) True Karate has Kata ( a series of prearanged moves) for each rank, Also two man drills that teach self defense, sparring (mostly stand up). There are a lot of take downs, wrist locks, arm bars, that are in the Katas and taught by a good teacher of Karate in the two man drills (nippon Kumite). |||Judo: 80% throws and takedowns, 20% grappling (approximately)

Kenpo: Is actually one of the first %26quot;mixed%26quot; martial arts. Mainly a stand up style, but it incorporates throws, submissions, etc...

Jui Jitsu: Is a ground fighting style. 80% ground, 20% throws (kind of a reverse of Judo.

Karate: Is mainly a stand up kicking and punching martial art. There are MANY variations of karate and the term %26quot;karate%26quot; doesn%26#039;t really describe one single style.

I have a growing list of articles on each martial art on my website. The ones you have have listed are already complete. Check them out, you will learn what you need to know.
