How do you take a heavy person down using the Judo method?

anyone know? any tips?|||Are you talking about taking a heavier person down who also knows Judo?

Honestly, the hip throw is the dead last thing you want to do against someone heavier, along with any forward throw really. You set yourself up to be countered easily, and if you miss the throw that person is on top of you.

For people who are bigger, (especially heavier) look for throws to the rear, Osoto Gari, Kosoto gari, o uchi gari etc.

Ninedemons has it down, if you want to help yourself fake a forward throw so that they shiff their weight backwards.

Notice I said reaps, not gakes (hooks) avoid intertwining your legs as it gives them time to set up and throw you using your own wrapped apendage. Reaps are hard and fast sweeps.

But to put it simply, look to throw them backwards, avoid any forward throws, unless you are damn good at them. (Uchi Mata is a good forward throw as it is usually thrown on angle, but you gotta be good at it) or any throws that require lifting your opponent (no single leg or double leg take downs).

Hope that is of some help to ya.|||learn judo would probably be the best place to start.|||There are many different throws that are effective depending on your skill level. I am 5%26#039;9 165 (short and small frame) ; the throws I found most effective are drop seionage/ippon seionage, and makikomi%26#039;s , ouchi and kouchi gari. I have studied Judo for a few years and now cross train in BJJ as well. It really depends on if your opponent is coming towards you (seionage) or away from you (kouchi, ouchi). Uchi mata is very good but if you make a mistake you will be the one who is being slammed.|||My favorite is fake a hip throw so the person leans back hard to try avoid throw. As the person lean back, quickly turn to face them, put one leg between their. Quickly hook your leg behind their knee and push forward. You%26#039;ll fall on top of the person but you%26#039;ll be in domination position.

Edit: if you want to do really nasty damage, move your arm from aroud back of person neck so you underhook their arm. That way when they drop, back of their head have no cushion.|||The Judo Chop

HELLO|||Balance, if your opponent is off balance you have the advantage, hip throw, you take away the possibility of competitor to move their legs, to regain their balance, weight is not a factor, bigger they are the harder they fall...
